The Beaumont Breast Centre, of which Breast Cancer Ireland is a major donor, was officially opened by First Lady, Sabina Higgins on June 3, 2022.  This world class facility will benefit over 10,000 Irish women per year, for decades to come. The new centre,  which cost circa €6 million, is spread across three floors in a purpose-built facility on the  Beaumont Hospital campus, Dublin. The building incorporates eight consulting suites, five imaging rooms with the very latest tomosynthesis 3D mammography and breast ultrasound equipment, a prosthesis and post mastectomy underwear fitting suite, and a dedicated counselling suite.

The Clinical Trials Unit which co-ordinates and facilitates national and international clinical trials / translational research is on the top floor with offices for clerical staff, clinical nurse specialists and data managers. A separate board room will allow the entire multidisciplinary team to gather to discuss personalised patient treatment plans.

The Beaumont Breast Centre offers a truly translational approach to breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, with consultants, radiologists and scientists all working in unison, under the one roof,  helping to change the landscape of the disease into the future.
