Launched on November 26th, Precision Oncology Ireland is a consortium of 5 Irish Universities, 6 Irish Cancer Charities & 10 Companies, aiming to develop new diagnostics and therapeutics for personalized cancer treatment.

Breast Cancer Ireland is proud to be a part of 21 Partners – with 1 Vision – Personalized Medicine for Cancer. This is the first programme of its kind bringing academic, charity and industry partners together, supported by Science Foundation Ireland to make Precision Oncology a reality in Ireland.

It’s a unique consortium laying out the blueprint for how cancer research & cancer care will look in Ireland in the 21st century resulting in better diagnostics, personalized cancer treatment with faster drug discovery and development.

The programme is lead by Professor Walter Kolch and will allow scientific advances to reach cancer patients in Ireland earlier, making cancer research work for cancer patients in Ireland.
