Ron Tuyay is a member of the clinical breast cancer research team, working on the long-term C-TRIAL 09/07 study.

This study recruits people when they are first diagnosed with breast cancer and follows them throughout their treatment journey, allowing researchers to understand how breast cancer changes and evolves over time.

By studying changes in DNA, gene activity and other biological processes as the disease progresses, researchers can build a much more detailed picture of how breast cancer behaves — including why it may respond to treatment initially but change later.

C-TRIAL 09/07 is one of the largest studies of its kind worldwide, providing an invaluable resource for researchers seeking to better understand breast cancer progression.

Why This Research Matters

Cancer is not static — it can change throughout a person’s treatment journey. Following these changes from diagnosis onwards could help researchers understand why some treatments stop working and ultimately help us develop smarter, more personalised approaches to treatment.

The knowledge we build today can transform the treatment of tomorrow. Through research, we can Rewrite the Future
