Pratiksha Shingate
Pratiksha Shingate is based at University Hospital Galway and is part of the team delivering the PRISM clinical study.
PRISM is investigating breast cancer that has spread to the brain, looking for genetic changes within patients’ tumours that could potentially be targeted with treatment.
Pratiksha plays an important role in recruiting patients to the study in Galway, collecting tumour samples and bringing together the clinical information researchers need to better understand how the disease behaves.
With patients participating in Dublin, Cork and Galway, PRISM is helping to create a national picture of breast cancer brain metastases and identify potential new opportunities for treatment.
Why This Research Matters
Every patient who contributes to research helps us learn more about breast cancer. By bringing together samples and information from patients across Ireland, PRISM can help researchers identify patterns, uncover new treatment opportunities and improve our understanding of advanced disease.
Every patient, every sample and every discovery brings us closer to a different future — one where breast cancer no longer has the final say. Together, we can Rewrite the Future
