Former Miss Ireland relaunches Breast Cancer Ireland's education programme run by survivors

Former Miss Ireland, Aoife O Sullivan, has relaunched Breast Cancer Ireland’s Breast Health and Education Awareness Programme, after it was paused earlier this year. Teacher Ms. O Sullivan, marked the reopening of the service at Laurel Hill secondary school in Limerick. The BCI scheme, which operates in conjunction with Cornmarket Financial Group Services, helps promote breast health education to transition year students, teachers, business people and clubs.

The BCI coordinators, all of whom are breast cancer survivors, share their personal stories to educate on how to perform a self breast examination and highlight the signs and symptoms to recognize. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when Breast Cancer Ireland aims to increase knowledge on the disease across Ireland and raise funds for research.
