Paula Smith

Role
BCI Outreach Coordinator, Dublin

In Paula’s previous career she was a hairdresser, whereby on a weekly basis it was her job to shave or restyle ladies hair that were diagnosed with breast cancer. When her own mother received a breast cancer diagnosis, she noticed how much more there was involved in looking after people with breast cancer. Over the years she transitioned into fitting and styling wigs for people in treatment and then later helping patients with prosthesis and bra fittings.

She has been working with Breast Cancer Ireland since December 2024, covering the Dublin area, where she feels by creating awareness and making a difference is a good day’s work.
