Over 300 people contributed to life saving breast cancer research this month by participating in this year’s Flora Women's Mini Marathon in support of Breast Cancer Ireland.
The event took place in Dublin City on Monday, 7th June over the Bank Holiday weekend.
With over 40,397 participants this year, the Flora Women's Mini Marathon is the biggest all women's event of its kind in the world.
RCSI staff members who participated on behalf of Breast Cancer Ireland included Corriena Brien, Student Services; Niamh Burdett, Communications and Events; Caroline McGuinness, Surgical Training; and Noreen Shankey, Chaplaincy, amongst others.
Breast Cancer Ireland is a charity set up to raise money for breast cancer research. It is administered through RCSI under the direction of Prof Arnold Hill.
The Flora Women's Mini Marathon is one of the many events on Breast Cancer Ireland’s fundraising calendar. Upcoming events include the Waterways Ireland Parkwest Run on 25th July, Galway City Marathon on 29th August, Dublin City Marathon on 25th October and Race Against Breast Cancer Race Day 2010 on 31st October.
