Breast Cancer Ireland delivers a breast awareness programme relevant to CSPE, SPHE and Transition Year students.
Our programme is designed to educate young women to become more breast aware. By knowing what is normal, young women will easily detect any abnormality, should it arise. Earlier detection leads to a much more positive patient outcome. We need young women, from an early age, checking routinely. Our motto “Breast Health – Your Wealth!”
As part of this programme, we provide a DVD which outlines in a very user friendly manner, how to conduct a self breast examination. We could schedule that one of our Research team would be on hand to deliver a presentation on “Taking the Fear Factor Out of Breast Cancer” highlighting the many advances in treatments being made through ongoing research.
