Research Updates

Breast cancer will affect one in every twelve women in Ireland today. Recent advances in diagnosis and treatment have improved survival rates from breast cancer. However, ongoing research into how breast cancer can evade some treatments and how the tumour can spread are fundamental in enhancing our understanding of the disease and improving patient outcome.

Breast Cancer Ireland supports a wide range of research into the causes of breast cancer tumour progression. Within the RCSI, we have two research groups composed of scientists and clinicians working together to improve our knowledge of breast cancer.
