The Guineas Festival at the Curragh on May 21st was a super event. All eyes were fixed on the Andy Oliver trained “Elusive Award”, racing in the pink Breast Cancer Ireland colours in the Emirates Equestrian Federation Mile Handicap
The race was a tight finish with “Elusive Award,” taking third position in somewhat stormy conditions.
Andy Oliver very generously donated 5 horses to Breast Cancer Ireland under the terms of “Lease For a Day,” for the 2011 flat season. Andy has a close affinity with Breast Cancer Ireland having lost his mother to this harrowing disease and feels that if he can somehow help raise awareness amongst the public as to the importance that research plays - he will have played his role in helping the charity in its race for a cure.
