Corporate Partnership Programme

Become a Breast Cancer Ireland Corporate Charity Partner

Breast Cancer Ireland’s goal is, through Research, to transform breast cancer from often being a fatal disease, to a chronic illness that can be maintained long-term through treatment.

Collecting and profiling patient samples is critical in advancing our research efforts.  As a small country, we realised that alone, we can make little difference…however through collaboration with the designated cancer centres, we can ensure a more cohesive and enhanced outcome for patients nationally.

With the support that we currently receive through this Programme, we have been able to launch our Breast Cancer Research Initiative.   With initial representation in Limerick, Cork, Waterford and Beaumont in Dublin, we have recruited specialist breast cancer research nurses who work not only in the collection of tissue and serum samples and in the creation of the countries first national data profile register, but also act as key educators/supporters within their local communities.

From L-R Aine O'Sullivan Waterford Regional Hospital, Alva Barry Midwestern Regional Hospital ,Teresa McKeogh Cork University Hospital and Trudi Roche, Beaumont Hospital

Through their collaborative efforts we are establishing the countries first National Breast Cancer Bio Resource – allowing clinicians and scientists nationally to avail of a much larger and more relevant sample pool from which to conduct their research – ultimately speeding up discovery times.

KEY FACTS:
• There are 2400 breast cancer cases diagnosed annually
• Most designated cancer centres see on average, 9000 patients p.a., of whom, only approximately 300 present with Breast Cancer.
• By establishing this National Breast Cancer Bio Resource & Patient Profiling Initiative, our clinicians and scientists, nationwide, have access to a much larger volume of samples from which to conduct their relevant research
• Through collaboration and support we aim to speed up discovery times and ultimately affect better treatment outcomes for patients

With your support, you can help us in our Race for a Cure!

Whatever the size of your organisation or the level of commitment you can give, we can work together and make a difference to people affected by breast cancer.

Our fundraising and marketing professionals are dedicated to delivering mutually beneficial partnerships.
From events and employee fundraising to sponsorship, payroll giving and joint promotions, we work with all sorts of companies, groups and associations to help Race for a Cure

Employee or membership fundraising
Improve internal communication, motivate your staff, promote creativity or just have a lot of fun for a worthwhile cause.
Why not incentivise your employees to set a target of raising funds for Breast Cancer Ireland, during the year, to which the company would match the final amount raised
Companies can decide on creating 2-3 in-house company fundraising days, whether it’s a “Dress in Pink” for Valentines Day or a novelty raffle – there is something for everyone.
We can work with you to help create a tailored programme that suits your needs

Events
An event in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland is a great way to involve staff, members, customers, clients or suppliers. We are on hand to help you plan and organise all the details.
If you have a specific time in the year when you actively promote your company, why not include a charity element?

Sponsorship
Benefit from the brand exposure and PR activity from a sponsorship partnership with Breast Cancer Ireland. We can help you develop opportunities with high-profile national events.

Cause-related marketing and joint promotions
Linking a brand or product to a cause such as Breast Cancer Ireland can help increase sales, build customer loyalty or retain or recruit members. We can work together to ensure that any venture is innovative, exciting and produces mutually beneficial results.

Donations
Your company could make a simple donation to Breast Cancer Ireland.  You can support us at national or local level, and help us by supporting our Breast Research Nurse Initiative Nationwide.

WHAT WE CAN DO IN RETURN!
As a thank you to all our corporate partners, we would be delighted to offer you and your staff our “Lunchtime series”. This is an opportunity for your staff to hear first hand from Professor Arnie Hill about the latest advances being made in breast cancer treatment; where he takes the Fear Factor out of the disease and outlines what to look for.

We also bring along our Breast Research Nurses who can answer any queries/concerns privately for staff involved

This has proved hugely successful over the past year and a key driver in our partnership programmes
