A fantastic crowd turned out for an evening of music and craic at Clifford's Pub in Ballinakill on Friday, 20th November.
John Dunne (organiser) welcomed the High King of Firoda, Richie Stone, proprietor of the one and only, Kerbside Motors in Ballinakill to the cabaret which included music by Na Fianna and tasty nibbles by Marie Delaney.
John would like to pay special thanks to the local Rebel Band, Na Fianna for taking the time out of their busy schedule of currently competing in Ireland's got Talent on RTE 1 to make an appearance at Clifford's and to Marie who provided scrumptious nibbles, Patick Hiney for printing the tickets and the posters; the Phizer Risers who made a great job of 'singing the song' and to all who generously supported them in their efforts including local businesses, friends and family.
John's fundraising commenced following the untimely death of his sister in-law 5 years ago from breast cancer. She was a great friend of Richie's and so the idea of coining a song about Richie's garage took hold. The Ballad of Kerbside Motors was born and subsequently recorded by friends and relations. It made its debut on Utube where it has since grown to critical acclaim raising €1,200 to date!
If you would like to contribute to John's fundraising campaign you can do so by donating to Account No. 4658 which has been opened especially at Abbeyleix Credit Union, Abbeyleix.
Thanks to everyone from John Dunne and the team at Breast Cancer Ireland for your fantastic support!
