On Saturday 9th October 2010 – the Plurabelle Paddlers, a breast cancer support group with a difference, took to the water at Grand Canal Dock to launch their two new Dragon Boats.
Research has proven that “paddling” is a super form of exercise post Breast Cancer treatment.
These are a group of women from the Greater Dublin area, who currently have, or have been through breast cancer. They have established a dragon boat team (think Hawaii Five-0) to:
- get fit
- enjoy the mutual support of team mates
- raise awareness about breast cancer.
- This Irish team is completely new to the sport and are inspired by the 150 or so breast cancer dragon boat teams worldwide.
- Breast Cancer Ireland is proud to sponsor the Plurabelle Paddlers and partner them into the future.
